The Chamber has identified several key areas of focus for 2009. The focus on transportation will include:

 
  • Expedited expansion of the Dallas Areas Rapid Transit (DART) Green Line and Cotton Belt Line.
  • Infrastructure projects in support of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) projects in Addison, Carrollton and Farmers Branch.
  • Funding to properly maintain current infrastructure systems and fund expansion projects.
  • A reasonable solution for regional rail expansion.
  • DART’s ability to issue loan rate debt.
 
The Transportation Committee, Chaired by Bill Carter of SpeedPro Imaging, meets once a month to discuss the immediate issues and the Chamber’s role in each topic. The committee is open to all members. Please contact the Chamber on 972.416.6600 for meeting information.
