What is Leadership Metrocrest?
Leadership Metrocrest is a nine-month civic leadership program designed to develop informed, connected, and engaged leaders across the Metrocrest region. Through hands-on sessions, regional conversations, and direct access to community decision-makers, participants gain a deeper understanding of the issues, opportunities, and organizations shaping Addison, Carrollton, and Farmers Branch.

How does the program work?
Through a series of all-day sessions conducted once per month September through May, Leadership Metrocrest class members participate in various leadership development and community education programs focusing on current civic issues.
Class members explore topics including:
- Public safety
- Education
- Local government
- Regionalism and transportation
- SIMSOC
- State government and the Austin trip
- Economic development
- Health and human services
Program commitment
- Program runs August through May
- Most class days are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Orientation, retreat, SIMSOC, and Austin trip are mandatory
- Participants who miss more than 8 program hours will not receive a certificate at graduation
- Missed hours above the 8-hour limit must be completed during the following program year before a certificate is awarded
Tuition
- Tuition for chamber members or individuals sponsored by Chamber members: $1,300
- Non-members: $1,500
- Tuition due: September 1, 2026
- Tuition includes program materials, meals for class sessions, retreat-related expenses, and the Austin legislative trip experience.
